Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using Crux, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity that occurs under it. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You may not impersonate others or create accounts for others without their permission.

3. User-Generated Content

Crux allows you to add gyms, routes, photos, climb logs, and other content ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Crux a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content within the app and related services. You retain ownership of your content. Community-contributed gym and route data is shared with all users to make the app useful for everyone.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Post content that is false, misleading, abusive, or harassing.
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to scrape, copy, or redistribute app data without permission.
  • Interfere with the app's infrastructure or other users' experience.
  • Use automated means to access the app or create accounts.

5. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time in the app settings.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

Crux is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Rock climbing is an inherently dangerous activity — Crux provides information only and is not responsible for any injury or accident.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Crux shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes via in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
